I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    – The Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear

“Enter no conflict against fanatics unless you can defuse them. Oppose a religion with another religion only if your proofs (miracles) are irrefutable or if you can mesh in a way that the fanatics accept you as god-inspired. This has long been the barrier to science assuming a mantle of divine revelation. Science is so obviously man-made. Fanatics (and many are fanatic on one subject or another) must know where you stand, but more important, must recognise who whispers in your ear.”

One uses power by grasping it lightly. To grasp with too much force is to be
taken over by power, thus becoming its victim.
    -Bene Gesserit Axiom

Love is an ancient force, one that served its purpose in its day but is no
longer essential for the survival of the species.

Speak the truth. That is always much easier, and is often the most powerful
    argument.

There exists no way of exchanging information without making judgments.

  14. I love the Dune series. I think Dune is the same to science fiction as what Lord of the Rings is to fantasy.

  15. isn’t there a european contest?
I’ll have to wait so long for the book to be published here.

building a galactic empire starts right here right now

  16. I have read all 18 Dune novels so far….Eagerly looking forward to spending my Thanksgiving with this new book….

  17. I would kill a gaggle of baby waff clones in needlessly horrific fashion for this book.
