  1. Talk about the start of a lifetime of reading. :) I still remember when my friend in school said, “Hey, you should give this book a read!”

  2. Even though it takes longer to listen to the book than to read, it would be nice to have, so I could listen while doing other things, like “working” lol

  3. I originally bought this book in paperbck because I liked the cover…no idea that this would become my favorite series of books or that I would be waiting for the final book almost 20 years later…lol

  4. Have listened to this audiobook before and found it enchanting. Jordan’s first, and in my opinion, greatest, most detailed work; you feel like you’re experiencing the adventure with the characters in a way that other others cannot match.

  5. The Wheel of Time series was my most influential read during my middle school years. I even turned my best friend into my warder and had loud arguements in the school cafeteria about whether or not Bela was the Creater.

  6. I love this audiobook. James Rigney is a masterfully weaves this epic tale of three Ta’veren. And, Michael Kramer and Kate Reading’s narration is absolutely enchanting.

  7. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the audiobooks for WOT. Eye of the World is still the best of the series.

  8. I absolutely adore this series. Reading these books, and meeting people who also love them at cons, are some of the best things I know.

  9. The audiobooks are amazing and if you don’t get this one I would still suggest you pick one up. They are a wonderful way to pass the time.

  10. I’ve been reading this series since book 2 came out, and although I am sad to see the end is near I can’t wait to read the end. I love the re-read value it has. I can’t tell you how many bindings I’ve broken.

  11. I’d really love to be lucky enough to win. I’ve loved the series since I was a teenager and it helped to get me through quite a few bad times in my life.

  12. This series is one of only a few that I have reread, and not just once. Having this would be great!

  13. It is every man’s right to choose when to Sheathe the Sword. Even one like me.

  14. I would love to win so I can re-read/listen to the entire series in preparation for the final book.

  15. Those Eelfinn can be really tough negotiators. Lucky for me that I brought my iPod and was able to get out of there so I can receive my audiobook!

  16. I can not, no matter how hard I’ve tried, get into the WOT series. I ahev tried, and tried, and tried. I’d like to figure out what Im doing wrong, becuase I love the works and reccomendations of those who speak so highly of it. I’d love to think that mayeb the audio book version of this will propel me inot purchasing the other books in the series and giving it a real try.

  17. Oh man this is one of my favorite books. I always love the first in a series. What with all the new characters to meet and learn to love :)

  18. This is the book that started me going for 16 years reading rereading and the rereading again. The series just doesn’t get old. By the time you finish reading all the books, you have forgotten little details at the beginning,

  19. Would love to give my eyes a break and start this series… yes, I haven’t read it yet…

  20. I had to move a couple of years ago and I lost the box with my first couple WOT books, this would be a great way to reacquire the series…

  21. I’m actually re-reading this series right now (8th time). It is by-far one of the best. This would be awesome to win. All of my books from this series are taped and re taped so they won’t fall apart lol.

  22. Trying to get my Dad into the series, he’s a huge audiobook fan, this would be a perfect way to introduce him to the series, but the Wheel weaves as the Wheel will…

  23. I would like to win this so my sons, one who is not a big reader and the other who is too daunted by thr size of this series could enjoy the Wheel of Time as much as I do.

  24. I got into this ten years after The Eye was opened (i await the groans). It promptly ate portions of my life ,and helped put off Old-TImer’s and other forms of Demented-ness. I do however still think that R.J. missed a shot by not having Taim = Demandred. Just because a thing is too obvious doesn’t make it bad [;-)

  25. Oh wow! To have this would be wonderful. My job keeps me “on the go” so I tend to listen to audio book and music for 5 hours straight. To have EotW to listen to…oh yeah!

  26. I would love to have this for a summer trip we have planned. It will make the long drive up the east coast much more enjoyable!

  27. I would love to have the audio books of Wheel of Time, after having read the series at least half a dozen times in the last decade.

  28. This is my favorite series!! I have loved every book! But this was definatley one of my favorites!

  29. We don’t have to outrun a trolloc or anything?!? Wow, this would be really neat. Please pick me!

  30. I started reading this series while deployed to the gulf, during the 1st gulf war. I have waited patiently, yet eagerly, for each book in the series to come out. Now, here we are waiting on the last book, and I am excited, and disappointed at the same time. I don’t want it to end.

  31. Sounds good. I love the Wheel Of Time series. Can’t wait for A Memory of Light (still say that is an ominous sounding title).

  32. I just re-read them all recently, but wouldn’t mind an audio book version (although it might annoy me to hear the reader say the names the right way instead of the way I’m used to reading them!)

  33. I rented these on cassette when I first started getting into audio books. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading do a wonderful job reading this series. They really make the characters come alive!

  34. Since getting into the series at least 15 years ago (or so), I’ve re-read the series every time a new title in the series is slated to release (just to make sure I have everything fresh in my mind when I crack the latest in this epic story). Eye of the World always seems to set the hook no matter how many time I’ve read it. I would love to be able to hear it in audio form.

  35. It is easy to see why people who start The Wheel of Time become almost cult like in their devotion to the series! It is so addicting and each re-read produces another nugget of the world so masterfully created inside!

  36. These books are great. You would be doing the right thing by giving it to me. Just saying.

  37. This book was the first gift my husband gave me when we were dating. Will always hold a special place in my heart. :)

  38. This is an awesome book! I have heard the books via audible and would love to have a physical CD version.

  39. Wow, there are a lot of entries already! I kept scrolling and scrolling to get to the bottom…I’m on my 4th re-read of tEotW…it woudl be nice to finish it out with the audio book :)

  40. I’ve been wanting to start this series for a while, and since I commute to school this would be perfect.

  41. Audiobooks are wonderful. I have an enjoyed them for many years. It would be great to listen to them in the car.

  42. My favorite series! I’m re-reading it (again) for the release of AMOL!!! I would love to win an audio copy!

  43. The Wheel of Time a great saga I’ve listened to the entire audiobook series multiple times.

  44. I finally convinced my wife to give these a try and she’s been unable to put them down. Mr. Jordan was certainly the master!

  45. would love to update my audio book… i bought it on cassette tape many years ago. i’m showing my age by that, lol The Eye of The World is still my favorite book of the series and that cover art is what made me want to pick it up nearly 20 yrs ago

  46. My wife drives over 100 miles a day for work… She listens to audio books on her drive. This maybe a chance to have her join me in my love for the Wheel of Time series!

  47. There has never been a better series written. Can’t wait for #AMOL. I will be sad that the series will come to a close, I have dedicated 2/3rds of my life to this series, it is the best.

  48. Living in the “Two Rivers” (Charleston, SC), makes this series very special to me. There is an Ogier street downtown, and actually two rivers that surround the peninsula, making me a true native of Manetheren. “Tai’shar Manetheren!” Would absolutely love this audiobook. It would go well with my WoT tattoos.

  49. This audiobook got my wife into the series, and now we are about to start The Gathering Storm together. I cannot wait for her to catch up to book 12!

  50. I have always loved listening to audio books and this one would be sure to keep me entertained for a long while

  51. OMG I can’t wait for AMOL!! there’re sooo many things I want to happen in that book.

  52. Such a great beginning to such an excellent series. This book was a great transition for me!

  53. I love wot! I’ve tried to get my sister to read this, but she doesn’t like to read :( this would be perfect for her!

  54. I was first introduced to this series many years ago by my then teen-aged son. Robert Jordan transcended generations as my mother-in-law (70′s) my husband and I (50′s) my children (30′s) and my grandchildren (teens) all have been swept away into the world of good/evil, black/white, male/female strengths and weaknesses. The series is in a class by itself and we cannot WAIT for the final book. My oldest son, Eric, is blind and I cannot imagine a better present to give him than the audio version of this wonderful story.

  55. Much of the characters’ behaviorism stems from the culture of their society, which is reflected in their linguistics. To hear the proper pronunciation would really bring the story to life.

  56. I would love to win the audio book, but i wouldnt keep it for myself. You see my best friend got me hooked on this series and i would give it to him as a thank you present. My sister gave me book 7 when it was first published, but i couldnt get my wrapped into it. I didnt know it was a series then, a year later i met a new friend and we hit it off. He saw i had book 7 and asked ho i liked the series, when he found out i wasnt reading the series he bugged me for months about it. I decide to read the series just to shut him up and now i cant stop reading and rereading the series.

  57. If I won, I would give this to my sister-in-law who first recommended and gave me EotW to read all those years ago. As much as I like the books, I like all the discussions we have had over the years about them.

  58. Tomorrow is my birthday, and The Eye of the World is one of my favorite books, and I would love to listen to it while I drive to work in the mornings ( an hour and a half each way). Good luck everybody.

  59. I have often contemplated re-”reading” the series by listening to the audio books!

  60. Jordan has been one of the greatest influences on my fledgling fantasy-writing career. I have high-lighted and starred entire sections of the Wheel of Time, studying his style, trying to understand how he has woven his words to cast his spell and enthrall the reader. I would love to hear the words come alive in an audio version.

  61. Would love to get this book. People seem to love it and I have never had the time to get started with this.

  62. i’ve loved every book in the series i’ve read so far and can’t wait for the final one to be released :)

  63. Audiobooks are a great way to read and still get the housework done. Thanks for the opportunity to receive The Eye of the World.

  64. One of my husband’s favorite in the series. He attends the Wheel of Time activities at Dragon*Con. I hope to win to give this as a gift to him.

  65. Have read WOT so many times have loved it since I read the first one as teenager but never heard an audio book would love to hear the pronounciations to see if they matched the way I read themand what better way than starting by listening to the first of an extrodinay series can’t wait for the final book!

  66. I normally check books to make sure I don’t get sucked into the beginning of a long-running series. Unfortunately, there is a glossary at the back of WoT and it masked the “Here ends Book 1…” from my inspection.

That was probably late-1990. Egad, what a wait it has been! Started the series at age 17 and here I am 38-and-counting!

  67. A couple of friends got me started on this series back in high school. Been a fan ever since.

  68. As someone who got their hands on a pre-release ARC of Eye of the World, I’ve been waiting for the conclusion of this series longer than most people. So I should win the random drawing, just to balance things out. :>)

  69. The CDs of the Wheel of Time turn, and chapters come and pass, leaving memories that become legend…
I love this series! Thank you for this opportunity Tor!

  70. That would be awesome! My girlfriend has been meaning to get into WOT for a while now, and she loves audiobooks, the perfect excuse :D

  71. The Wheel of Time series got me through my pregnancy! These books kept me company and helped my anxiety. LOVE them♥.

  72. This is not the beginning. There are no beginnings or endings in the turning of the Wheel, but it was A BEGINNING.

  73. I purchased a copy of “The Eye Of The World” in 1990 at a Stars and Stripes bookstore in Spain; and, thoroughly enjoyed reading it while flying from Spain to the Middle East. Since then, I’ve anxiously awaited the release of each successive WoT novel, and have reread the series from the very beginning before each new novel was released. Robert Jordan was my favorite author; and, I was delighted to hear that Brandon Sanderson accepted the task of writing the remainder of the story in an effort to bring the series to an appropriate conclusion.

  74. Love to listen to and from work… and while working out.. and before bed.. and as an alarm clock… and..

  75. This would be a wonderful birthday gift for me since I only get one every four years

  76. I love these suckers! Long trips to visit parents or other family members are made much more enjoyable with a the company of a good (audio) book!

  77. Cool!!! I am thinking about doing my reread with audio books. This could get me started.

  78. “I will hate the man you choose because he isn’t me, and love him if he makes you smile.”

    Robert Jordan

    Need an excuse to re-read!

  79. I have been meaning to start getting the audiobooks. I am curious to see if hearing the story would bring the same images to mind as what I imagine when I read the books. This way, or the store, I am getting this soon!

  80. Tia mi aven Moridin isainde vadin.
Every time we read these books we see a little bit of his soul still alive.

  81. Love the series since I started reading in middle school. It’d be great to be able to relive the stories on those long car rides.

  82. I’m away from home in another country learning! And this would be great for inbetween lessons!

  83. I would love to wind this sincde I recently had cataract surgery in my left eye.

  84. I have enjoyed the ride, reading through this series! I am not a fan of audiobooks, but I have a friend who has difficulty reading, and I would love to share WOT with him.

  85. I love this series! I can’t wait to get the last book, An audio re-read is a super idea!

  86. I have the hardback and paperbacks this would be a great way to start my audio collection

  87. I have read the book at least 12-15 times (I reread the entire series every time a new book is released…and sometimes even when there isn’t a new book). But I’ve never heard the audio version and I would love to try it!

  88. I would love to win … I’d be so great to listen to a great book on a long road trip.

  89. This series is amazing, but my wife is scared of large books, so I thought she might listen to it on audio book. It would be awesome to win!

  90. I was 9 when this book was initially published and it started me down a road of epic reading. I actually have a trip to Kentucky in April (I’m from just outside Chicago) and what a perfect way to pass the time.

  91. I would love to win this. Audio books are the only “reading” I seem to have time for anymore.

  92. Yes! This would be a great book for my husband and I to listen to while we travel — maybe lead to the whole series.

  93. Count me in! I’ve always wanted to give the wheel of time books a try, but the sheer scope of the series has made me hesitate to begin the attempt. This would definitely supply incentive…

  94. I resisted my friend’s advice to read Eye of the World for two years. Okay, okay; you were right! And you’re still right now that I’m in my fourth trip through- it eating every crow/ raven I come across.

  95. This was the first book I read after finishing basic training, here it is 16 years later and this series may stretch through my whole 20-year career. I keep going back whenever I am bored or can’t find a new series to read.

  96. What a great contest. :) I’ve been reading WoT since I found them in high school, back when The Eye of the World had first been released. It’s been a comfort to be able to read them again and again through my life, and I would love to have an audio version for long trips.

  97. The wife and I love this series. I have read and reread The Eye of the World 6 or 7 times. Would love to listen to it on long rides.

  98. It has been a while since I have read these. Would like to revisit them via audio book though.

  99. My friend and I got in trouble with the postal service when we were in high school back in 1995. We each got a letter from the post master asking us not to address each others mailing addresses to “The Dragon Reborn” and “Wolfbrother.” O_o

  100. I’d love to hear someone read aloud the names of Nynaeve, Moiraine, and Egwene. Count me in!

  101. I have a total commute of two hours every day. It would be awesome to listen to “Eye” on my way to and from work. Please?

  102. i still think final Wheel of Time book and Chinese Year of the Dragon coinciding is a fitting end to an awesome series

  103. The wheel of time is such an excellent example of classic fantasy done really well and very in depth.

  104. Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!Pick Me!

  105. I hope we win lol.. my family of four, have me (DAD) read to them every night, I started with the prequel and now am on Eye of the world. My kids love it

  106. I was wondering when they were going to do an audio book of. The Wheel Of Time is one of my favorites.

  107. Sucked in thinking it was a trilogy, stayed to the end, cannot wait until the last book/books.

  108. I would love the opportunity to enter and by chance win. But I live outside the US, come on guys would it cost so much to post this prize to the UK, we are your biggest friends over here.
There is a world outside of the US you know

    J
    YNWA

  109. Stayed up the whole night Reading this(long ago). “It would have been an honor to meet Mr. Jordan face to face.” Would enjoy hearing this epic story, hope I win but if not the winner is blessed to have this in their collection!!
    “Time To Roll The Dice”

  110. My husband wants this audiobook….he really deserves it. I would love to be able to give it to him for V-day.

  111. This is the first book in the series I read, so it would be cool to hear it in audio! I’d love to get this, thanks for the opportunity to win!
