  1. I am very interested in all of the books, but I’m particularly interested in The Hum and The Shiver – the book has such a clever, intriguing concept. Please enter my name for Collection #2. Thanks for offering us this chance!

  2. I’d be happy with either, but I like #2 best because I want to read Walton’s newest.

  3. Collection 1 please – would give me a chance to read a memory of light novel and David Weber who I’ve never had a chance to read.

  4. Both of these are great collections, but I’d love to win the second one more!

  5. They both look amazing, but if I’m forced to chose, Collection #1 wins :)

  6. Oh! I need Collection #2 to get me through finals and to keep me company whilst I search for internship opportunities!!

  7. Though choice, but I think I’ll go with collection #2. Honeyed Words sounds really good.

  8. Who could say no to the possibility of winning package #1? Not me thats for sure. #1!

  9. I’d like to win collection 1! I really want to read some of Valente’s work.

  10. Collection #1! I’m a huge WoT fan, so I’m actually excited for both, but I’m just getting in John Scalzi’s books, so I have towards collection 1.

  11. I would be so apprecitive to receive collection 2! I am a sci-fi/fantasy freak and live on a lonely ridge in the Clinch Mountains of eastern Tennessee. There is absolutely nothing to do here 90% of the time and I can so see myself digging happily into that pack while the coyotes sing outside. I’ll wave at them and think of you.

  12. As Lemoney Snicket says, “I’m bound to die next to a stack of books I planned to read.” So, selection 1 is what I would like to entered into. Thanks!!!

  13. Both look very interesting, but I’d like Collection #2 if given the chance. Thanks!

  14. Enter me for Collection #2!! There are some books there that I’ve been wanting to read, and the bag/iphone case are awesome! :)

  15. There are some GREAT things there. It is close, but I think I prefer the first collection!

  16. I would love to be counted on pack #2 this is a fabulous spring cleaning!
    Thank you.

  17. I would love to help you clean 😉 and I would definitely prefer Collection 1… or Collection 2. Yes, definitely Collection 1 or 2.

  18. Either choice would be fantastic to read but I would love to own the second collection Thanks

  19. I am in agreement with many of the comments given. Collection two provides the opportunity to read new realms of imagination. This moves the cobwebs out of the top shelf.

  20. Either one would be great (but I guess if I really have to choose one I’d probably go for #1). Thank you for yet another spring cleaning, TOR!

  21. What a fantastic opportunity! Either collection would be an honor to have!

  22. I would love to get collection 1 it would fit right in with what I am currently reading.

  23. E-books are OK, you can always have them with you (Kindle, IPad, Android, etc.). But… there is something about the real hard copy of a book. Its the weight, the feel, the small… Ahhh the new ink and new paper together combine to take you back to when you first learned to read. Whether you were 4 or 8, doesn’t matter, jst that you could hold in your hand a ticket to elsewhere. It gave you the freedom to see places and people that you could never discover any other way. I like set 2.

  24. Collection #1 please. I’ve been wanting to read Red Shirts for a while now but haven’t picked it up yet. Thanks for the chance to win!

  25. I would like collection #3 please! (That would be collection #1 + collection #2).

Shoot … I have a feeling I just disqualified myself.

  26. They both look amazing – people should definitely read Deathless even if they don’t win Collection #1!!! I would love Collection #2, all of those books are on my to-read list!

  27. Collection 1 would be the one for me – Redshirts and Deathless are both on my list!

  28. I would love collection #1 to add to my the new room I finished in my basment for my books and collectables. Awsome swag.

  29. Pick Me! I would love to read all in collection #2 and gift the ones I have read. I also love games and iPhone covers. Pick me!

  30. I’ll take number one. I already have some of the books in number two, but I don’t have Redshirts yet.

  31. Honestly, I would be happy with either. However, I would probably select #1. I think. Maybe #2. Wait, no, #1. : )

  32. I’d be thrilled to win either, but if I have to choose, I choose collection two!

    Thanks for a great giveaway.

  33. One can never have too many books… Although my current ToBeRead piles (rooms full)
may be pushing it. Anyway, would prefer collection #1.

  34. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! My preference would be collection 2 but I wouldn’t say not to collection 1 either :)

  35. I guess my odds are better if I pick two, but I’d love a copy of Redshirts so collection #1 it is :)

    I’ll be crossing my fingers!

  36. Both collections look fantastic, but…collection 1! Thank you for doing such a great giveaway.

  37. I like Bundle #1 and would love to have the wheel of time backpack and the books in that collection.

  38. After extensive scientific reasoning and catching a tiger by its toe I have to say Collection #2 Please

  39. Collection #2 please! It has a couple of books by authors that have been recommended to me.

  40. Hard to decide…but I’ll plump for Collection #2.

Many thanks to Tor for not only doing these giveaways…but also for not requiring the use of a Facebook app to enter.

  41. Oh, I would love to win Collection 2! Most of those books are on my to-read list already!

  42. While my reading tastes go all over the place… I’m interested in package 2, and would love to win it.

  43. Tough choice… but I agree with the many that the second collection is the winner.

  44. Collection #1, please. I am MUCH more a fan of “hard” science fiction than fantasy.

  45. ARRRGGGHHHHH … such a tough call. I’ll say “#2” based on a mental coinflip, but if you decide I deserve “#1” more, I won’t complain!

  46. Collection #2 because of Among Others and the Alex Bledsoe book. But is it terrible to say I really want the WoT backpack the most??

  47. Both collections are awesome. Since I must choose, I’ll go with #2. Thanks for the chance to win!

  48. Either prize sounds fabulous, however I’m leaning slightly more towards package 2. Thanks!

  49. #1! I need new books to read! And I’ve heard great things about Redshirts!

  50. I’ll go for set 2. I have not read any of these authors and am always looking to try something different. Please enter me in the contest.

  51. Collection One is preferred over Two,
but a practice that one must eschew:
    Giving a gift horse a looksee –
or a bag full of booksies,
and saying “Your freebie for me will not do!”

  52. Argh! Can’t decide! Both are sooo cool!!!! RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…. TWO! TWO! TWO! 😀

  53. They both look really good, but I would love to win collectiion #1 the most. Thanks for this chance to win.

  54. Thank you for offering these sweepstakes. Would love to win number one. All looks interesting!

  55. I would love to receive either one of these collections I hope you don’t pick in numerical order.

  56. A difficult decision, as they are both feature some great reads! My first preference would be collection number 2 :)

  57. Thanks for offer these sweepstakes! Would love number 2! Though both look great!

  58. Collection #1 – I’ve quite liked all the Karl Schroeder and Cat Valente I’ve read before, and there’s a new-to-me book from each of them in the set! (Though I’m jealous of the Collection 2 winner, who will likely be getting the experience of reading Among Others for the first time.)

  59. I’ve entered so many of these. I probably have zero chance of winning but I’ll vote for number 2. That way I can put the Memory of Light iPhone case on my wife’s phone, maybe that will pique her interest in the series I love so much. #2

  60. Number 1, I would love to read Redshirts!! The rest of the collection is wonderful also :)

  61. Both collections look wonderful, but since I have to choose, I’ll pick number 2!

  62. Both collections have authors I love to read but collection #2 has a nose of a lead. Thanks for the contest.

  63. I was tempted to vote for #2 followed by a dumb laugh, but I actually prefer #1. So that’s potty humor 0, actual thought 1.

  64. Both look really good, but I’ve been itching to read Scalzi’s Redshirts so I’m going to have to go with collection 1!

  65. Since I’ve already read some of the books from the first collection, I will go for #2. Thank you TOR!

  66. Lovely! I’d go for either collection, though I’m slightly biased towards Scalzi’s “Redshirts” in collection #1.

THIS is how you treat loyal readers and encourage new readers to become loyal to begin with!. Well done, Tor, well done indeed!

  67. Oh, boy, new books! What a hard choice! I actually prefer Collection 2, just because I’ve already read some of the books in Collection 1.

  68. I choose #1. I am absolutely and solely choosing these books based on their covers. Also, #YOLO #SWAG and other such exclamations.

  69. Winning either would be awesome, however collection #2 is right up my alley! Awesome contest, thank you!

  70. Interesting as Collection 2 is, the science fiction in collection number 1 is where it’s at.

  71. I have just about all of the books in the first set. And only one or two in the second. So, I would prefer the second set. I would really like the backpack.

I use a wheelchair and always have a backpack hanging off the back of it. So, it would be great advertising for Tor.

  72. Collection #1, please, but could you substitute Off Armageddon’s Reef for the latest in the series? I already have Reef, but haven’t gotten my hands on the newest. Either way, it’s fine … I’ve been waning to read Redshirts and would love the Wheel of Time iPhone case.

  73. That backpack would be great on campus so either collection would be wonderful for me.

  74. Oh boy, collection 1 wins by a very narrow margin. :) What treasures you turn up when housecleaning!

  75. I’d prefer the first package, because it has a wider assortment of harder SF (except I’ve already read David Webber’s book). Although I’d be happy to receive the second package, too, since it does have a good range of stuff with some good reviews.

  76. Such a tough choice, but if forced to choose, I would have to say collection 2!

  77. What fun! They both look like great collections, but Collection #1 is certainly my preference. Thanks for offering the chance to us Tor fans.

  78. Either collection, because I haven’t read any of these and want to read them all!

  79. Both collections are fab but would really love #2 more. Thanks for a chance at some good books and some memorabilia to boot!

  80. Collection 1 looks amazing. I <3 John Scalzi and Catherynne Valente.

  81. I’d like to win collection # 1, mostly because John Scalzi is so…cuddly…, but I’d like also to know who won Collection # 2. I’d like to see if we left them together, they would reproduce.

  82. Add me, too. Collection 1, only because I’ve already read nearly everything in the other

  83. Random drawing seem to make a plea moot, but even so, it IS almost my birthday and either set would make a great birthday present. Plus, I’ll write book reviews for each author!

  84. I’m looking forward to add these books to my collection. I’d love to read them all. However if I have to pick #1 as I already own some of the other.

  85. I like ’em all, but if I had to pick, I’d prefer Collection #1. Although I heard that a recently released research article has thrown the redshirt theory into doubt with gold shirts being the more expendable Star Trek extra class 😉

  86. Well, since #1 includes some of my favorite authors, I’d choose that one, but that just means I probably need an introduction to the authors in #2 :-)

  87. Picking which one i want to ask/hope for is next to impossible! Deathless and Sunless Countries call to me from the first, but i think i have to go for Court of the Air, In a Fix, and The Hum and the Shiver. My hopes must lie with Collection 2. (i’m not imagining that it was separated along sex lines right? Wonder what it says of me that i so badly want both!)

  88. I’d like them all, but since I have to choose, Collection # 2, please. Thanks for giving us all this chance.

  89. both collections sound awesome, but I guess if I haaave to pick it would be number 2.

  90. I would be most interested in #2, but only because I already have several of the books in #1 (that doesn’t mean I couldn’t donate the spares to a local library, though).

  91. This is such an awesome gift! Great WoT items and a great way to expose different authors to readers.
    Collection #1!

  92. Collection #2 is my choice – I’ve not read any of those authors. Thank you for making this possible!

  93. Collection #1 is it! Have heard good things about “Redshirts” and “Off Armageddon reef!.

  94. I would gratefully accept either, but I like the sound of collection 1

  95. Tough call but I think I’ll go with collection #1. Although due to a Christmas accident, that would give me 3 copies of Redshirts. But I have friends who would appreciate it.

  96. It’s so hard to choose between the two of these, but I’d love to get my hands on Collection #1. Good luck to everyone who’s trying to get their hands on a prize! =)

  97. My sons would kill me if I picked anything other than collection #1! Thanks for the giveaway.

  98. My daughter would love collection #2 because of the books that are in it.

  99. Free books are always a bonus. I have already read a couple of the books in collection #1 so I would be interested in collection #2.

  100. Its a difficult choice, but I think that I’d have to go for Collection number two.

  101. I would love either of them! They both have the Wheel of Time swag I desire. I have been reading the Wheel of Time series since I was in third grade. (I am now 24 years old) I always loved to read and developed a very high reading level at a young age. That reading ability got me a scholarship out of my public school into a private school, and subsequently into a great college. I am currently teaching in an inner city school as a part of the Teach for America corps. I hope to provide similar opportunities to my studenso they do not have to leave their schools to experience great things. I would share the rest of the books with them.

  102. Collection # 2 looks very appealing. Thanks for the chance to win awesome prizes! 😀

  103. Collection #1 would be awesome, but either one would be amazing. I would love collection #1. Thank you so much for the chance to win one of these amazing collections.

  104. I would like either collection. Both look like they have good stuff. Would probably lean a little more to collection #1, though

  105. Great packages. I would love number 1! Thanks for all these chances to win items!!

  106. Having already ready read most of #1 guess I would prefer winning Collection #2.

  107. Collection 1, Collection 2, I can’t make up my mind. Either one would be great!

  108. I want to read all of the books in both collections but I would have to choose # 2. Please enter me for it.

  109. I have several of the books in #2…so please enter me for COLLECTION # 1. Thanks a million!

  110. Count me in for #2, mainly because I already have Redshirts (and enjoyed it a lot).

  111. Really have a hard time choosing between collection #1 and #2, as they both contain novels by some of my Favorite Authors. Please put me down for Collection #2, or should I pick #………… Oh well, as I said, both look good! thank you for the chance to enter!
    Mike C.

  112. What a terrific opportunity to read newer books and try authors I haven’t read before! Off Armageddon Reef by David Weber peeks my interest with it science verus religion motif. How many times has science been obstructed by religion with seemingly little or no logic? Will Weber postulate his own theory on why this age-old struggle began? I’m also interest in The Coldest War by Ian Tregillis. His combination of modern warfare settings merged with magical overtones sounds fascinating and I wonder if he can pull it off. I can’t wait to find out!

  113. I’d like to win collection 2. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

  114. Yikes! How can I decide? Well, I’d be happy with either collection, but am leaning just ever-so-slightly more toward collection #2 (mainly because I’ve already read–and loved!–Redshirts).

  115. Thanks for all the excellent books and this giveaway! I really enjoy all the work that I have read that is published by TOR/Forge. Either collection looks great!

  116. I would like Collection #1 simply because I haven’t read any of the books but have heard great things about them :) Thanks for the sweepstakes 😉

  117. I would collection #2 because it has ‘The Court of the Air.’ I have been wanting to read some of Stephen Hunt’s books and enter the world of steampunk. It should be a wild ride.

  118. Looking for my new book to read. Collection #2 looks mighty fine.

  119. Both of the collections look awesome, but I guess if I had to pick, it’d be the second.

  120. I agree it is a tough choice. While I’m interested in Deathless and the history component, and I’m sure that Redshirts is entertaining; I think I will have to put my choice down as #2 because I’m curious just based on the description of The Hum and Shiver and I think my daughter would like Among Others as much as I would.
    Thank you

  121. I would like number 2. It contains some reads I have yet to enjoy. Love you site and I and a huge fan of the Wheel of Time series. That book marker alone is worth a lot. As a disabled person, I live in a world of fantasy and thank you so much for being here.

  122. I love your giveaways! #1 would be my strong preference between these two.

  123. Hard to choose– both collections look great! But put me in for Number 2, please!

  124. Really, I wouldn’t mind either one of these! I’ve heard good things about Scalzi’s Red Shirts, so that one sounds intriguing! But, The Hum and the Shiver, Among Others, and The Cour of the Air also sound intriguing! So hard to pick one! Perhaps, since my wife and son love Star Trek, I’ll go with Red Shirts, so Number 1. Thanks much for the chance to win!

  125. Number One! I already have an equal number of books from each set, but Redshirts would be the most fun to give as a gift!

  126. I would love to win collection 2 friend! If you would be so kind, Thank you!

  127. Great contest. I would like collection 2. I have not read any of them. Thx

  128. I don’t really care which collection you send me, if I am fortunate enough to win one. I like reading outside my comfort zone, finding authors new to me, fiction that I can share with like-minded friends, books that expand my horizons. Thank you for the chance to win.

  129. I’d love to win either collection. My first choice, though, would probably be #1. I’m a long time fan of David Weber, and I’ve been wanting to read Redshirts by John Scalzi. I haven’t heard of the other writers, except Jo Walton (a great writer) from collection #2, but winning either would be a wonderful way to discover new authors – new to me anyway. :)

  130. Both collection look fantastic! If I had to pick it would be 1, but it’s a close call.

  131. Winning either one is like Christmas in March. Either one will do. Surprise me, please. Thanks.

  132. My cat has insisted that I enter this contest and request collection #2. I have no idea why she picked that one but mine is to obey. Thanks!

  133. I would like collection #1, because I’m a big fan of John Scalzi and haven’t read that novel yet.
The other novels in this package also sound stimulating.

  134. If I had to choose one set, I think I would probably enjoy the second set of books the most. Those books stand out to me, whether it’s their genre or story, I’m not quite sure. Then again, I doubt I will win the sweepstakes regardless since I’m not the type of person who usually wins anything. Unfortunate but here’s hoping, nevertheless. Congratulations to whoever does win, though.

  135. Tough choice. I think collection 1 is more ‘me,’ but I’ve already read a few of those. Seriously, if you haven’t read “Red Shirts” yet you are missing out. It’s a quick read so you should get right to it. Anyway, since I have read a number of books in collection 1, I think I’d go for collection 2.

The funny thing is that I was just thinking I gave most of my backpacks to charity and now find myself needing one.

  136. I just so want to read Redshirts and can’t seem to find it, so collection 1 is for me!

  137. I have read some of the books in collection 1 – “Red Shirts” was great fun. So I’m going to choose collection 2.

  138. Collection one, by a narrow margin… And I just want to take this oportunity to say “I’ve loved Tor/Forge for as long as I’ve been able to read! Live Long and Prosper!”

  139. I’d go for collection #1, just for the Scalzi book I haven’t had a chance to read. And the “Makers” card game-I love Cory.

  140. Collection #1, please. I have been wanting one of those WOT backpacks forever!

  141. I recognize everything in collection 1(books that is), and have actually read most them already, that’s why Collection 2 intrigues me. But no losers here!

  142. I have not read any of the books in either collection, so if I win, I will gladly accept either collection.

  143. Oooh, which to pick. Both have books I want to read…

    I’ll go with Collection #2.

  144. Ooooo, tough choice! I think I’d prefer #1, though. Thanks for offering these!

  145. No. 1 for me! Really want the Redshirts by John Scalzi !!! Thanks for doing the giveaway!!!

  146. Collection #2 as I already own or have read most of the books in Collecttion #1. Great reads!

  147. Both groups are excellent books which I would love to read! If Ihad to choose, I would pick Group #1.

  148. #1 please! Thank you for this unexpected opportunity to own such good books.

  149. They both look amazing, but since I already have a copy of Among Others, I would have to go with Collection 1.

  150. I’ve been wanting to give Court of Air another try so I’ll say #2. It was one of those books where circumstances rather than the book kept me from finishing but once it’s gone enough months (and you’ve had to return it to the library) it’s hard to pick up again. Really evocative though. On the other hand, I’m intrigued by Redshirts and in either batch are things look interesting though I know nothing about them–so here’s to trying something new!

  151. Wow, and I was just reading the article about David Weber & Brian Herbert with their new series, but I’m liking #1 the most, Redshirts is on my list to read, as well. Still, it’ll be cool to win a book sweepstake!

  152. Both are excellent, but I’d prefer #2 since I already have some of #1 (although any extra copies make great gifts.)

  153. Number one is the best-looking one by a mile! I love anything Valente, and I don’t have Deathless yet in hardcover! 😀 This is an awesome contest, thanks for running it!

  154. Definitely, Collection 1, even though I would like to have The Hum and the Shiver!

  155. Collection # 1 Please!, The bag filled with Red Shirt and all these other books is Must have!

  156. I would be interested in collection 2. Thanks for the chance to win these great books!

  157. I have never won anything and would love to have something from the great master. I have been reading jordan since late 89. he is atrue mastrt

  158. “Among Others” is a great book and a deserved Hugo winner. I hope that whoever wins collection #2 enjoys it as much as I did.
I am more interested in collection #1 with the Tregillis, Valente and Schroeder books. Thanks for letting us help you with the spring cleaning.

  159. Superb sweepstakes and a very difficult choice! If pressed, I guess I would have to give a slight edge to Collection #2. That said, winning either option would be extremely satisfying. Thank you for the opportunity!

  160. I would take either collection, but #1 would be the first choice.! Wish me luck!! :-)

  161. I have been drooling over the Wheel of Time bag since you first showed it off and that iPhone case would be great for my dad! Every year, since the late 90’s, my 3 brothers and my dad and I have gotten together at our cabin for our version of a hunting trip. We call it our “Geekend” and all read the just released WOT book from start to finish, every few hours stopping and talking about the book and speculating what is to come. If I had my choice, I would love to get Collection #2! Thank you for this opportunity and best of luck to everyone!

  162. Can’t you just surprise me? I would love either one. But if I have to pick, I guess #1…

  163. I love the Wheel of Time series. I’d probably pick #2 if I had a choice. I tend to read a lot of teen science fiction and #2 looks like it has books I’d be interested in.

  164. As a favor to you, I will be helpful to take these leftover off of your hands

  165. I went back and forth on this one…but Makers card game?!!! That clinched it! Number 1 would be awesome.

  166. I would love to win these books! Collection 2 being first choice, collection 1 my second.

  167. I would like to have Number 2 I really loved the The memory of light. I read in the first 2 days I had it.

  168. It’s tough choice – they’re both great! However, I must choose… and I think Collection #1 would be a wonderful prize to win! …Now, where’s my sword?

  169. I would like Collection #2, please. :) The books sound especially riveting in that one.

  170. I Would like collection# 1. I would like that bag and books also

  171. I wouldn’t mind having either one. they both look great. thanks so much.

  172. How to decide? How to decide? One potato, two potato, three potato, four… Hmmm, just give me number one with a side order of fries.

  173. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but I’m going to have to go with #2, since I’ve already got a copy of Redshirts.

  174. Both collections sound great but I think collection #1 sounds just a little better.

  175. Both collections look great! (I’ve read Red Shirts & enjoyed it…but it would make a great program prize!)

  176. I would really like collection 1 because it has some of my favorite authors. Thanks

  177. I would love to win Collection #1! Scalzi and Weber are two of my favorite authors and I still haven’t had the chance to buy either of those books! Pick me please!

  178. I like collection 1. I enjoyed Weber’s Honor Harrington series. The Coldest War and the Sunless Countries are titles that remind me “Winter is Coming” and I like to read authors I haven’t read before.

  179. cool collections. Thanks for sharing. Now that’s my kind of spring cleaning. ;D

  180. I would enjoy either collection and would love to have either one of them. Since I have to choose, collection 2 please.

  181. I’d like collection 1…I’m practically drooling over some of those books, and I’d love one of those awesome backpacks!

  182. It’s so hard to pick, but I think I would like collection 2 just a tad bit more.

  183. Either one wold be great, I would like to read Deathless, so #1 it would be.

  184. Once upon a midnight dreary
While I pondered weak and weary
    Which collection should I choose?
