  2. I wish I was there so I could holler, “Bridge 4!” It would be awesome connecting with fellow Radiants but sadly I’m not making it. I’m Going on a road trip to NorthWestern Wisconsin for a tubing trip down the Apple River. Gonna be listening to wheel of time : Shadow Rising the entire time though! Have fun guys!

  3. What will I be doing this week? Why, saving the world singlehandedly while also keeping an eye on the news so I can pretend that I am actually at comiccon.

  4. I’ve wanted to go to this Con for years! But since I live in NC and can’t winning this would be the next best thing! Thanks for the giveaway!

Thanks for hosting such an amazing giveaway, too. You guys are awesome!

  12. Is it sad that I really want to move to Southern California just so I can go to ComicCon every year?

  13. While not at ComicCon I will be catching up on my marvel movies in preparation for the release of Guardians of the Galaxy. Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 still to go. I doubt I’m going to find Captain America 2 still in a local theater, alas.

  14. Well, I’m going to read and plan more blog posts. It’s not exactly exciting but it’s what I’ll be doing.

  15. It’s not Comic-Con but I’m going to the Amelia Earhart Festival. Yay funnel cake!

  16. Oh my. I want all the things! Sanderson and Jordan! Jo Walton! Terry Goodkind! Yes please.

  17. These swag bags are amazing! While #NotAtComicCon, I will be taking my son to the local library for a science based Children’s Summer Reading Ending Celebration. Really looking forward to the young kids playing science games and having a fun time partying in a library. If I won this swag bag I will be all set for lots of relaxing reading time once my son’s school starts.

  18. Whatever I’m doing, it won’t be as exciting as being there! Actually, I’m re-organizing my house, never a particularly fun project.

  19. While lots of people are going to SDCC, I’ll be writing my thesis proposal and reading Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb.

  20. Oh my goodness, what a wonderful grab bag selection. Wish I was there but it’s too far for me to fly. Thanks for the giveaway!

  21. What will I be doing while NOT at SDCC? As of now, drying my tears, getting a good night’s rest and tomorrow reading all day long to make room on my shelves for my new books which I’m sure I will be winning.

  22. I will be doing rather boring work, some exciting reading, hopefully some writing, and perfecting my plan for universal domination (it’s still in the early stages, so maybe ‘perfecting’ should read ‘coming up with’).

  23. I’ve been incredibly interested in reading most of these books! Even though I’ve read Words of Radiance before I would love another copy(especially with Brandon Sanderson’s signature)!

  24. I will be drawing and painting at the behest of muse and patrons at my local ArmadilloCon this weekend, after a long absence from the con circuit. One must start with small steps, but look always towards glory…

  25. I am recuperating from my undersea and safari adventures in the hot and humid world most know as Orlando, Florida (and for once, Disney was NOT involved!) So, mostly I will be reading…..

  29. So many of these books are on my Want to Read list. Must win. Also, I live in Iowa so there’s NO cons here. Especially nothing as grand as Comic-Con… does a sob story help my chances?

  30. I wouldn’t have to worry about books to read this summer with this collection. So many great authors, wouldn’t have to worry about inspiration for new illustrations.

  31. Awesome swag bag – thanks for the opportunity to win even if we can’t be in San Diego!

  32. #Notatcomiccon saddest hash tag ever. But these books would certainly cheer me up

  52. While #NotAtComicon, I’ll be eating delicious Indian food and listening to The Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher.

  57. “Student in need of something to read other then textbooks, any help appreciated!”

  58. That’s quite a collection of books. Old Man’s War and Among Others, I’m in.

  59. Ugh, I wish so much I could be at comic con, but sadly, geography makes this a king’s ransom so…thank you for this contest!

  60. While #notatcomicon I’ll be pulling cable and waiting anxiously for new books from all my favorite authors, but especially Sanderson.

  61. It would be amazing to win this! I’m so sad I can’t afford to go to Comicon.

  62. For #notatcomiccon, I will be reading Wards of Faerie by Terry Brooks and World War Z

  81. Yes please! I’m spending my weekend crystal hunting and taking pictures of a bald eagle’s nest.

  82. In between many sighes over missing SDCC, I’ll be reading THE WRONG GIRL by Hank Phillipi Ryan which is an excellent way to spend a weekend.

  83. I’ve been organizing my bookshelves and prepping for a trip to take care of my brother.

  84. It’s like someone raided the “to be read” pile in my brain! So much goodness here.

  85. I’m crocheting a Toothless amigurumi this weekend, since crocheting dragons is SORT OF like attending awesome cons. (Or not…)

  86. An amazing thing I’m doing this week? Um… Does staying inside and reading a bunch count? ‘Cause that’s about as amazing as my life gets these days.

I suppose that means I’ll be travelling to different worlds and realities and time periods and going on adventures, battling evil and bringing down corrupt regimes and maybe, just maybe, slaying a dragon or two!

  87. Though I’m #NotAtComicCon , I’ll be finishing up process of registering for college at age 41! Also, reading a new Wonder Woman paperback and Souleater manga while waiting for my financial aid to go thru and carrying for my genius autistic daughter and her wonderful big brother! Oh! And getting ready for Marvel Day! ;D

  88. I will be spending this week finishing reviews and presentations for work. Would love a shot at this!

  94. I’m moving out-of-state, to begin a Phd Program! Would happily not do readings for PhD work in favor of the books in this bag though 😉

  95. Have to say its very very sweet of you to put up prizes for those who can’t make it to the Con. And such great swag too! And to let Canadians enter!

My time Not At The SDCC will be spent getting suitcases and the house ready to attend a family reunion. An In-Laws reunion. o.0

  97. I spent the week slaying dragons and worrying over the ones that got away 🙂

  98. I really would like to make it to SDCC one of these days but in the meantime, winning a swag bag helps with the pain 😉

  99. I’ll be writing a thrilling horror short story about a woman who has to defend her right to land from monsters.

  100. I will be putting together my reading list for the fall and winter online comic book courses I will be teaching. I am also following the posts of my friends who are at the conference and swooning with jealousy.

  101. Heading to a friend’s birthday party tonight and going to my family’s monthly lunch date tomorrow. It’s not Hall H but it’s something to keep my mind off my burning envy of all those who are there!

    1. Forgot what I’d be doing this week while #notatSDCC. If I can drag myself away from reading about SDCC I’m editing short stories while trying to keep my toddler from eating, well, everything.

  102. Scrolling down past the comments was a chore on my tablet. Gonna be some stiff competition for this contest.

  103. #notatSDCC because I don’t have tickets and am currently getting the house ready for visitors. Might be able to swing an offsite event on Sunday. Live in San Diego County.

  104. While I’m #NotAtComicCon in between rounds at my day job I’ve been writing and editing some SF flash, plotting a SFF story, reading Long Hidden, and playing games (The Walking Dead, The Cat Lady, The Secret World). I’d love to win this GORGEOUS bundle. *__*

  106. Oh my gosh this would be fantastic, just finishing up Dance with Dragons, and I need more reading this summer.

  107. I’m busily writing a syllabus for my Creative Writing class and teaching myself InDesign so I can help my students create eBooks as part of the year’s classwork. Of course, I keep distracting myself following all the news and tweets from San Diego, but I’m managing.

  108. This is awesome!!! Thank you so much for thinking of those that couldn’t make it to SDCC!

  109. I actually DID build a TARDIS this week! The library where I work is having a Mad Scientist Party to finish off our summer reading program for this year and I used an old, giant box to build a TARDIS for the teens to take pictures with during the party! 🙂 At one point, I was actually on the floor of the library INSIDE of the box working on it. The patrons of my library really got a kick out of that. XD

  110. This prize package looks amazing! Thank you, Tor, for hosting this contest, your readers appreciate it greatly!

  111. While #NotAtComicCon, I’ll be helping a friend make dragons fly better & invent a new teleportation device (yes, really), writing some extremely cool Perl & Scala, finishing a fantasy story set in an Amazonian jungle, trying to sell another story that was inspired by a Ray Bradbury short, reading SDCC tweets & blogs, exploring Tyria, and, of course, looking for a new job, because I don’t have enough to do.

  112. Tried so hard to get tickets! Online then the radio stations, TV stations and came out empty. I did take my daughter over to Barnes and Nobles because they have a Comic Con small event and she got some items. Tonight we are going to go see Jade Heart at the Moxie Theatre!

  113. What I’ve been doing/am doing is re-establishing contact with my mother, to whom I have not spoken in more than 5 years. Awesome enough for ya?
    MKK

  114. Is it wrong I just really want an awesome Tor tote bag? I LOVE tote bags. You don’t even understand.

  115. All hail the mighty TOR! They may not wield a hammer, but their books still pack a godlike punch.

  120. What an awesome prize package – I’ll have to put these books on my “to read” list!

  121. One amazing thing I’ll be doing, while I’m not at Comic-Con, is entering this awesome contest! 🙂 And working, that’s pretty cool too. Paying the bills is great, but getting some cool Comic Con swag feels a lot more fun 😀

  122. Other than sulking over the fact that I’m not at Comic Con, I’ll be planning my trip to DC.

  123. Incredible prize package….would be loved by myself, my husband, my son, and my daughter….Thanks for the offer!

  125. While #NotatComiCon I am painting and doing homework for my summer literature class – science fiction.

  126. I will be reading Allegiant to my three daughters. We have already finished Divergent and Insurgent. We read together ever night.

  127. While I’m #NOTATCOMICCON I’ll be trying to keep up with my two year old! Hard work!! Lol.

  128. Not being able to go to SUCH is a huge bummer, but winning this would make it sting a little less.

  129. as much as I would love to be at SDCC, life keeps me trapped at home 🙁 but this wonderful grab bag would make it worth staying home!

  130. It would have been glorious to attend Comic-Con, but my large emerald dragon would have eaten my neighbor’s tomato patch had I not remained here to prevent that most unfortunate occurrence. It is rather difficult at times to share living quarters with a vegetarian dragon, but the benefits exceed the negatives, particularly when one requires roasted peppers for a dinner dish.

  131. Nothing like a deep and dark night, a thunderstorm in the distance, candlelight flickering, curtains flowing from the gentle breeze at an open window, and a TOR book. This great prize pack would provide for many frighteningly good evenings. I would love it!

  132. I would love to receive this amazing bundle of titles by these great authors.

  133. What a wonderful consolation for those of us #notatcomiccon!! Please please pick me!! 🙂

  134. While not at comic con, I will be working in the daytime & reading until way too late at night.

  135. Wow, lots of goodies! Thanks for helping those of us not at SDCC to have a chance at some swag.

  137. I would so love to win a swag bag! #SDCC is so on my bucket list. Just waiting for my kids to get a bit older so they can come with me and appreciate the experience. 🙂

    1. Whoops! Got a little over-excited. This week, while I’m #NotAtComiCon I will be working on a 750 word short-story for a national Canadian contest that is held annually by Polar Expressions Publishing. Each time I’ve entered, they’ve included my story in their soft-cover collection. Also, I’ll be keeping up with the ComiCon highlights.

  138. I wish I were at #SDCC2014 — but if I were, I wouldn’t be eligible. Thanks for this giveaway!

  139. While I’m #NotAtComicCon, I will be planning my Halloween costume…and also, laundry.

  140. I will be home, listening to my teens whine about not being able to go to Comic-con. Such is the life of a mom of fangirls.
    Thank you,

  141. I’ll be at home dreaming about next year when I move to the West Coast so I can attend these amazing events!

  142. While I was #NotAtComicCon, I finished the season 1 of Avatar: The Last Airbender! Can’t wait until I get to The legend of Korra!

  143. Someday there might be “Time Enough At Last”–[not so subtle reference to The Twilight Zone episode]–to read all of these gems.

  144. this week while i am #NotAtComicCon i am going to be doing a lot of work to make some money before i get laid off my job next month

  145. Nothing I could do this week would have been as amazing as getting to go to Cali and attend but I guess I will blow off work one day and spend it drowning my sorrows chugging a nice big margarita on the beach!

  146. I have to say that I would much rather be at Comic Con but the family over-ruled my decision so my son and I are making sand dragons at Panama City Beach 🙂

  147. While I am #NotAtComicCon I will be taking care of my 6 month old son and reading comics to him daily!!! He has already grown up with Sandman, Batman: The Long Halloween, and Maus!!! His knowledge of the world of comics grows daily! 🙂

  148. I’ll be working! Not really an amazing thing, but hey, it is what it is =P

  149. I will be having a stay cation with my daughter doing things locally in our area! Thanks so much for the chance to win.

  150. While not at ComicCon, I will be battling with rats that have invaded my cooling system which is critical in the hot as heck desert where I live. One rat tried to squeeze thru a vent in the ceiling and drop onto the chair I had just vacated.

  151. I would love to win this; I really wanted to get to San Diego comic con but just couldn’t make it work 🙁
