We’re pleased to announce our winners and short list selections from the 2015 RUSA Reading Lists:

- Mystery short list selection: opens in a new windowThe Midnight Plan of the Repo Man by W. Bruce Cameron
From the press release: “Winners were selected by the Reading List Council whose members include up to twelve expert readers’ advisory and collection development librarians. The eight genres currently included in the Council’s considerations are adrenaline, fantasy, historical fiction, horror, mystery, romance, science fiction, and women’s fiction.”
RUSA compiles a list of read-alike titles for each genre’s winning book: The Goblin Emperor read-alikes are The Spirit Ring by Lois McMaster Bujold, Cold Magic by Kate Elliott, and The Ruins of Ambrai by Melanie Rawn.
The My Real Children read-alikes are Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, and Sliding Doors.
Two of these honorees also received other accolades:
opens in a new windowLock In by John Scalzi was selected for the 2015 Alex Award list which highlights the ten best adult books that appeal to teen audiences. Just a reminder that Lock In was also selected for the LibraryReads and Texas Lariat Reading Lists.
