Sounds great…thank you!
Do you have all of this centralized in one place like Facebook group/Instagram? Or is this where all the information will be posted?
Look forward to seeing your lineup of amazing African-American authors! With everything going on, #literaryactivism to support Black Americans putting SFF stories into the world is what is needed today and EVERY day. The SFF genres are such treasure holds of radical, diverse imagination and better futures for all!
Agreed! Black Authors Matter and Black Stories Matter! The vision you describe is exactly what I love about SFF.
Right, did I miss the Black SFF line up? Please let us know which of the amazing African-American authors published by Tor will be participating! Ayize? Phen? Is Genine Tyson involved? Who?? Dying to know!!
Hi Audrey!
Watch Nnedi Okorafor (with Cory Doctorow) on Sunday: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/DoctorowOkorafor?utm_campaign=TorCon&utm_source=TorBlog&utm_medium=Announcement
And Alaya Dawn Johnson and Andrea Hairston (along with Kate Elliott and Ryan Van Loan) on Saturday: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/torcon-chaos-cosmos-registration-107228734030
How much does it cost to attend?

Will the broadcast of each panel be captioned?
Sounds awesome, but will it be taped so it is possible to watch these convos after the fact? I have to work Friday thru Sunday from 8am to 8pm, so will miss the live stream :-/
Another person who’d love to be able to catch some of these after the fact. The discussion between Nnedi Okorafor and Cory Doctorow ticks lots of boxes for me, but I’m based in the UK. Midnight on a Sunday when I have to work the next morning is not a great start time for those of us outside North America 😂
It would really awesome to see more writers of colour on the bill too — I can see 1 writer with East Asian heritage, 1 writer with SE Asian heritage and 3 African-American writers. Especially given the prominence of historical and current racial injustices at the moment, it would be so good to see a bit more melanin on your virtual stage 🖤🤎
(Imperfect fool that I am, I hit Post before crediting Audrey T. Williams for pointing out the whiteness of the slate before I commented on it. Sorry Audrey; I didn’t mean to talk over you like that.)
Appreciate your comments, Owen. I did not perceive you as talking over me, but adding a voice of support to see more Black American authors included. Cheers!
The videos will be available to watch afterward on Crowdcast and Facebook!
Disappointed that you’re doing this through a non-free service (CrowdCast) with no up-front indication of what it will cost. The only way to register is to sign up for a Trial of CrowdCast—not something I’m prepared to do without knowing a lot more about CrowdCast.
It seems CrowdCast only costs money for those broadcasting, it is free for viewers. It was a bit harder to figure out than I’d like, as their site is geared towards broadcasters and doesn’t have prominent info for viewers.

Hi Derek!
Crowdcast is free for viewers! We have to pay to show you all videos, but you can come and watch free any time!
Where’d the link to the Night of the Living Dead film screening go?
Will you have replays available for us who are late to the game?
I see my answer a few lines up so exciting thank you!
Did anyone mention to you that the name “Torcon” has been used twice before, by Toronto Worldcon? Or have you found that the name is not currently trademarked?
